antique victorian oak breakfront sideboard with secretaire c1890

Description

Superb Antique Late Victorian Oak Breakfront Sideboard with Secretaire Bureau and dating from around 1890. Constructed from solid oak it has a moulded edge to the top above a central deep Secretaire drawer with carved front and original handles and which pulls down to reveal assorted pigeon holes and a central small drawer and with a superb parquetry writing surface of ebony,walnut,mahogany and fruitwood. This is above a carved Gothic arch frieze over a door with arched panel with central carved panel and original brass lock escutcheon and handle. This is flanked on either side by a quarter reeded column and five graduating drawers all of which are oakl lined with original brass handles and all with carved drawer fronts. It is moulded to the base and stands on bracket feet. It has panelled sides and original keys. This fabulous Victorian Sideboard Secretaire is of Superb Quality.
MEASURES: 39" HIGHX 21" DEEP X 63" WIDE
With a lovely deep colour and patination and oozing all the charm and character of the period. Our furniture is cleaned and polished using traditional waxing methods.
