Description

Antique Inlaid Edwardian Mahogany Triple Wardrobe Compactum by Maples & Co and dating from around 1900. Constructed from quality mahogany it has a cornice top above a cross banded inlaid frieze and with a central bow front cupboard with beautifully inlaid fruitwood Swags & Tails in the Adams Style and with original brass handle and working key and removable shelves to the interior. Thisis above four graduating drawers all of which are mahogany lined with original brass handles and with flamed mahogany fronts and cross banded edges. To either side there is a full length bevelled mirrored door set within cross banded door frames and with original brass handles and keys. Internally to one side there is a shelf to the top with hanging rail and to the other side there is a hanging rail and deep shoe box to the base. Both wardrobes have brass guiding rails ( the clothes are placed behind the rails to keep them neat and to stop them being caught in the door) A true sign of quality. It stands on a deep plinth base and has the Maple Badge. Separates for ease of transporting.
Measures: 85" high x 23" deep ( internal depth 19.5") x 74" wide
In very good original condition with a lovely deep colour and patination and oozing all the charm and character of the period. Our furniture is cleaned and polished using traditional waxing methods.
