Description

Highly Decorative Antique Italian Rococo Hand Painted Serpentine Shaped Wardrobe which is all hanging and being 9ft.8" long and dating from around 1950.
An Interior Designers Dream, it has a pierced and scrolled cornice top with carved cartouche to the centre of each wardrobe and with a moulded frieze. It is constructed with three double wardrobes with the central wardrobe having overlaid decorative scroll work with hand painted oval panel to the centre and gilt handles and working key. To either side there are two serpentine shaped doors with handpainted scroll & floral panels in pale pastels. It stands on a scrolled & pierced base on carved cabriole legs. It has reeded sides separating each wardrobe with carved scrollwork supports to the top and base. Internally it is all hanging with original velvet cloth backing and with full length mirrors to the inside of the central doors.
The two end wardrobes have a ground colour of a very pale duck egg blue ( one door on the end is faded perhaps due to sunlight) The central doors have a contrasting natural colour with natural ground painted panels.
Measures: 82" high x 28" deep x internal depth 22.5" x 118" wide (9ft.8") Completely breaks down for ease of transporting.
This fabulous wardrobe is in very good sound and solid condition with some 'very' slight distressing to some of the paintwork which adds to its authenticity and appeal.
