Description

Lovely Antique 17th Century Oak Court Cupboard and dating from aorund the time of the Restoration Period of 1680 James 11. Carved with typical Westmorland Celtic style strapping. The carved frieze top with turned baluster supports above a carved central door with original iron handle and key with carved panel to either side. The base has a moulded edge to the top above two carved drawers both of which are oak lined with original iron handles and a carved door to the centre with original iron handle and key with carved panel to either side. it has a carved plinth and stands on bun feet. it has panelled sides and original panelled back and is hand & peg joined.
the top separates for ease of transporting.
Measures: 56" high x height to top of base 36" x 22" deep x 51" wide
In very good condition with a lovely deep colour and original patination to the oak oozing all the charm and character of the period.
